Generally speaking, orders can be adjusted until they ship out, but for pre-orders for sold out items they cannot. That's because the order needs to be re-authorized, and will fail to do that because the item is no longer available. Redirecting the order after it ships is usually the best solution, but I'd like to confirm if that will work for us here so you can make an informed decision about whether to cancel it.
