I'm returning a Lenovo laptop (L15) to BestBuy via UPS. 

The laptop was delivered in a slim, light cardboard box. I'm worried it won't protect the laptop during shipping. 

True the laptop was shipped TO me in the same box. But maybe Lenovo has a special deal with UPS to give careful handling to laptops. The driver brought it to our door and asked for signature. I'm not sure if I ship it with UPS it will get the same handling.

I would use padding to protect the box. But it's not just BBY to reduce packaing but other retailers are doing this. If you can add a little bit of extra packaging to protect or you can do a return in store.
