My in-store pickup order released to an unauthorized person.

[ Edited ]

Hello. This is regarding my order {removed per forum guidelines}.

I placed an order for a Lenovo Yoga 730 13" laptop in the amount of $715.11; it was a in-store pick-up order.
I went to the store to pick up my item, but the store manager told me it has already been picked up by someone else.
He also said there is nothing he can do about my order. He suggested that I file a police report; I did.

Now I lost $715.11, and it was no fault of my own. All I did was to place and order online and then to go to the store to pick up my order. The sotre clerk released my order to an unauthorized person, and I am talking all the penalty for their mistake.

Re: Best Buy store pickup order released to an unauthorized person

Hey Bay Area Neighbor I'm in Hayward but saw that store from Freeway 80 several times.

Good to hear you got a police report. This will help in all cases get a fraud investigation going.

Typically the original purchaser will not only need their ID but also their original credit card used to purchase as well. Without these two items present, only a designated pickup person can do this, providing they have their ID.

I find it puzzling that they released your order to someone else, so I suspect that your account may have been compromised as someone had access to your order information.

Best for you to change the password on your Best Buy account immediately for starters.

Re: My in-store pickup order released to an unauthorized person.

Hello sjmin711,

Thank you for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums.

It sounds like you are off to the right start here by contacting your local law enforcement. That said, I’d very much like to take a look into this for you on my end, so that I can at least document this for you in our corporate systems. I’d appreciate it if you could please send me a private message, by using the link in my signature below this post.

If you could please confirm the order number in that message, that would be a great start. Please also send along the phone number and email address associated with that order.
