My Photoshop Elements Digital Purchase never came with a serial number

Hello, I had purchased and downloaded Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements from Bestbuy.com, but I'm unable to complete installation because Adobe prompts me for a serial number, which I cannot find anywhere. I have a key code, but that is alphanumeric and not what it's asking for.

I've chatted and spoken with customer service three times over the last two days and they were unable to help me (or even understand the problem.) At this point a serial number would be great, to be honest.
