The final amount that is given in cases of this nature will boil down to the outcome of the investigation. We are able to assist further to some extent once the investigation has run its course and a final outcome is given.

I've filed the investigation with USPS. The shipper receives the money from the insurace claim (not the recipient).
The item was signed by someone who I do not know. I have to consider this as theft. There are too many people to blame. The carrier should have checked ID instead of handing it off to a random person. The person who signed for it, should have checked the name and refused to sign OR left it with building management.
I spoke to customer service and was told to file a credit card dispute. I did file a dispute with them and was told that this issue is directly with the store (you guys).
In either case, I shouldn't be the victim of this. At this time, I would like to get a refund.
If you get this item from D RICHARD, great. If you can locate D RICHARD, you can ask for the package back.

Welcome back, oneorangetree,
Because USPS has confirmed delivery of your order, and has collected a signature for this order, I recommend continuing to work with USPS to investigate its delivery. Additionally, if you believe this order has been stolen by the person who signed for it, I recommend filing a report with your local law enforcement agency to investigate the delivery further.

USPS told me to work with the store about reshipping the item while the investigation is pending. The credit card statement is due at the end of the billing cycle and you guys can easily resolve this by also following up with USPS to start an investigation about the package theft by D RICHARD.
I am calling it THEFT because this person signed for it and there is no indication of where the package went.
I can file a police report IF IT WILL HELP YOU TO REFUND THE MONEY BACK TO ME!
I work full time and have a second job after my first one. I don't have a lot of time to take time off from work.
So please let me know if this will assist you in refunding me. If D RICHARD ever does the right thing and bring it to me or building management, we return the item promptly back to Best Buy

To clarify, items purchased through BestBuy.com are subject to a destination contract. This is outlined in our Shipping Costs & Timing Help Center article, and I’ll include the relevant text below:
Title to Products
Purchases of product through BestBuy.com are subject to a destination contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for these products passes to you upon the carrier's delivery to your ship-to address.
USPS has confirmed the delivery of this order with a signature, as you’ve mentioned previously. If you believe your order has been stolen, I strongly recommend contacting your local law enforcement agency to conduct an investigation into the disappearance of your order.

WOW! So customers who order from Best Buy and the item is misdelivered or signed by a total stranger is the responsibility of the buyer. This is totally unacceptable.
You guys can clearly see that my name is not D RICHARD and I have no idea about this person. I've been trying to track this person down. I don't even know if it's a guy or girl (DENISE, DONALD, etc).
So even if USPS claim is a success then I will only be entitled to the value that it was insured for. You guys insured the package for $100.00. The item's cost is significantly higher. Can you show me where the policy is if Best Buy under insures an item?
