Help catch the thief!

This morning, someone used my debit-card number to fraudulently make three separate purchases on BestBuy.com in the amount of $220.49 each (totaling more than $661 in fraudulent charges).

I have already spoken to my bank, and cancelled my debit card.

But can BestBuy.com please look into charges in my name,on April 23rd, at around 9:11 a.m.?

The thief could be caught if you have the shipping address for these thefts!

I tried to phone customer service but the hold time was nearly an hour, and my attempt to get a callback resulted in a "callback failed" message.

Re: Help catch the thief!

Good afternoon, UnhappyCampers,

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.  I apologize for the delay in our response to your post, as we’ve been experiencing a bit of a backlog on our Support Forums over the past few days, and it’s taking us a bit longer to reply to our customers than we’d typically expect.

I can’t say I blame you for wanting to investigate these charges further, and while it sounds like you’ve taken a few steps to resolve the issue, I’ll be happy to offer any additional assistance we can.  If you haven’t done so yet, I would recommend connecting with your local law enforcement agency, to file an identity theft report.  If these charges are fraudulent, please know that Best Buy will cooperate with law enforcement, so they might investigate these orders as necessary.

If you have any other questions or concerns, this Knowledge Base article on the matter may provide additional insight.  Otherwise, don’t hesitate to visit our Support Forums again, and we’ll be happy to offer any additional assistance we can.

Regards,

SeanM|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate
