My account was hacked, I received an email saying my email had been changed. I try to login to my account to check the status of my orders and I’m given an error that my email or password is invalid. So I hit the forgot password button and enter my email and then I receive an email from Best Buy saying my email is not registered and I can create an account. I’m freaking out cause I have my order on the way and not sure if the hacker can ship to another address since they changed my email and locked me out my account.

Seeing unexpected changes to your account would certainly be stressful, so I can imagine it hasn’t been easy. I’ll be glad to speak with you more about this to see what may be possible to help going forward.


To begin, if you share login credentials between website (which is not recommended), please be sure to update those account passwords as soon as possible. If you have a credit card saved to your account, please monitor that card activity and connect with your credit card issuer or bank to report any incidents.


As it has been a while since you first posted I’m unsure if you have already spoken with one of our other Best Buy customer service teams about this already. Due to the high number of posts and messages coming through our forum lately, calling our customer service teams via phone at (888) BEST-BUY or (888) 237-8289 should allow you to speak with a representative more quickly when in need of immediate assistance. If you haven’t been able to speak with someone yet, I’ll be more than glad to review your order and account. I’ll need your full name, phone number, email address, and order number.
