Gift card

I have a gift card that I’ve used before and I know it has money left on it but whenever I go to check it on the website it says the card number and pin are invalid

Ok so that's a start to help determine what's going on. Can you be more specific? Was this card purchased in store at a Best Buy location or was the card purchased , say for instance in a grocery store, or mall outlet that sells gift cards?

I believe that it was sold at a grocery store or a mall outlet

Take this with a grain of salt, but I think the gift cards sold in stores are third parties and may have their own portal for gift cards to check balances. The back of the card should tell you who distributed the card.

Welcome to our forums!  It’s disappointing to hear you’ve been having some trouble checking the balance of your Best Buy gift card, but I’m optimistic we’ll be able to assist and help you track down the information you’re looking for.

 

As hockeycanuckjc mentioned, if your card was a gift that was purchased from a third-party location like an outlet mall or grocery store, there should be information on the back of your card that tells you where or how you can check the balance on your card.  Alternatively, you may be able to check the balance online here, or by phone at 1-888-716-7664. 

 

If you’re still running into the error message you’ve described, I’ll be happy to take a closer look and offer any additional assistance I can.  For me to do so, I’ll just need you to send me a private message with:

 

  • Your first and last name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • The 16-digit gift card number, without the PIN
