I had placed the order on BestBuy through phone. I was offered a $350 gift card as part of the purchase. I had given the address to which the gift card was to be shipped. But the gift card was shipped to a wrong address. As soon as I got the tracking information and realized that the gift cards were shipped to a wrong address, I called the customer service to notify them and they assured me that the said gift cards would be cancelled and new ones issued to me.
The gift card was not cancelled and used by someone (to whom it was wrongly sent to) and the new gift card issued to me was cancelled. On contacting Cusotmer Service, they asked me to file a police complaint which I did. Now they want me to follow up with the police to get this resolved.
Firstly, BestBuy sent the gift card to wrong address. Secondly, BestBuy did not take action in time to cancel the gift card even when I notified them of the mistake before the gift card was actually delivered to the wrond address. I wasted more than 10 hours to get this resolved. I just keep getting transferred from one department to another. Why am I being penalized for a mistake done by BestBuy?
