Gift card failed authorization

One of the gift cards I used in a purchase got a error message "Failed authorization" and I had to complete the purchase by paying with my credit card. The funds on the gift card were deducted but have not returned.

 

I've read many other posts on this forum of people having the same issue. I'd like to have the funds restored to the gift card as soon as possible.

I would certainly be more than a little confused if I didn’t think a gift card was used and then funds were no longer available.  I’m glad you reached out, and would be happy to take a further look at this for you to see what options may be available going forward.

Funds have returned to the gift card as of 05/13 (next business day). Should have just waited I guess.

Thanks for confirming you received the funds back onto that gift card! I was out of the office yesterday when my partner team sent a message advising that the funds had been put back, so I’m sorry for the delay in my reply.

 

While waiting does do the trick in many cases, reaching out for us to review the situation was the best move when you had questions about potential charges on that gift card back on May 10.
