Gift card failed Authorization.- balance has not been returned

I recently placed an order with 2 gift cards that was canceled saying authorization failed. I noticed that many others have had this issue with placing gift card orders and was hoping someone could assist me in finding a resolution.

I spoke to the Best Buy customer service support line about 5 different times for over the last few days and keep getting told different things. On representative said my balance would assuredly be refunded by 11/9 (which did not happen). The individiual I spoke to today told me that I would receive a return phone call in 10 to 15 business days regarding a resolution which is absolutely absurd.

 

My $50 gift card is now showing a balance of $0 after my order was canceled and this is incredibly frustrating. I feel like my money has basically been stolen by Best Buy and I am now expected to just wait and hope that I get my money back IF the customer service department ever decides to call me back. 

Can someone please assist me in receiving a refund to my gift card balance?

I would be glad to look into your order and gift cards to best assist you with this today. I will also include a link to our Best Buy Returns process for your information as well. Refund method and timing
 

" With a few exceptions, we will reimburse you for returned items in the same way you paid for them. If you prefer, you can make an exchange for the same item.

For returns by mail, once we receive your return, we will process it within 7–10 business days. Depending on your bank’s processing time, it may take up to 10 days after we process the return to reflect on your account.

If you paid more than $800 in cash or more than $250 by check or by a debit card without a major credit card logo, we will refund you by check within 10 business days. Any amounts deducted from a gift card will be credited to the gift card. If you no longer have the gift card used for an order, please call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) with your order number handy, and we’ll be happy to send you a replacement.  "

Hi Thomas, thank you for responding. My order was canceled by best buy prior to shipping and I never received my order. I would appreciate assistance as my gift card was charged without the order ever being completed and the balance still hasn’t been refunded to me.
