Frustrating Experience on E Gift Card Refund after cancelling the order



I am posting here after giving up on contacting customer service agents - phone and chat. I had placed an order to buy Macbook Air on 15th Nov 2020 using two gift cards and a credit card. The order didn't go through claiming payment had issues even though I was charged on all my cards. When contacted an agent, I was informed to cancel my order which I did. After 24 hours, I got the refunds on my credit card and one of the gift cards. The other gift card worth $100, still shows $0. 


I contacted agents several times over the last few days and I keep getting conflicting information regarding my refund. Too long hold on calls, randomly disconnecting the call and not calling back, transferring my calls to wrong departments, incorrect ETA, unware of refund policies are few of the many problems I faced.


I urge someone to look at my case and ensure I get my refunds asap or atleast issue a new gift card. Agents gave me a case number track which I can share if required.

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for connecting with us for assistance!  As outlined in our Cancel Your Order Help Center article, once your order is cancelled, you should expect to see the funds return to your Best Buy gift card within 30 minutes of the cancellation, so I can certainly understand your disappointment with this delay. 


I’d like to take a closer look into your order and see what might be causing the delay in these funds returning to your gift cards, however, I’ll need just a few pieces of additional information from you in order to do so. 


  • Your first and last name

  • Your email address
  • Your order number
