Re: Fraud

You should notify your card issuer immediately, disputing the charges and canceling the card. Were these online order? Since you contacted best but they might be able to cancel the orders before they’re fulfilled.

Re: Fraud

I have had to cancel the card. Yes it was on online order. I contacted BB right away that this order was not placed by me before it shipped, they shipped it anyway and charged me even knowing that I did not place that order and now I’ve had to cancel my card. This is unacceptable from BB

Re: Fraud

I'm sorry your stolen credentials were used the crooks at Best Buy.   You might look over the topic on the matter:

https://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/BestBuy-com/Help-with-Unauthorized-Orders-on-BestBuy-com/td-p/1059073

Anyone who's place an order with Best Buy or any other online retailer knows the level of information required.  Full Name, Billing Address, Full Credit Card Number, Expiration Date, and the secret CVV on the back of the card.  Unfortunately, whoever it was that used your card had so much information that the retailer cannot tell the difference between you and a scammer pretending to be you.  This is a worldwide issue, and unfortunately if they entered the details that passed our authentications as well as your credit card's fraud checks, there is little Best Buy can do.

I've been in the same situation you're in, I followed the steps that all major credit cards support:  I disputed the charges with my card company so they locked my card and issued a replacement.  The charges were placed into a "dispute" state, after a few statements they removed the charges.  Most banks handle it in a similar fashion.

I am a Best Buy Employee, but the views that I post are my own and not that of Best Buy.

Re: Fraud

Thank you for the response. I followed all the guidelines and cancelled the card. The thing that angers me is that I called Best Buy immediately to cancel the order as it was not me that made the purchase. They had ample time after I notified them to stop shipment and they did not do it. I’m trying to get an email address or some contact info to speak with a corporate person at Best Buy about why they did not stop shipment in a timely manner after they were notified of the fraudulent activity. Any here have the contact info that could help me?

Re: Fraud

I paid it. Hoping it will get resolved. Shame on Best Buy for processing the order even after I told them immediately it wasn’t me that made the purchase. They had ample warning and time to cancel the order.
