I agree with all the messages about Best Buy not caring about fraud. It's clear that they are willing to accept a significant amount of fraud with online purchases in order to not inconvenience legitimate customers by requiring CV codes to be entered at checkout, etc. What they are not considering however, is that they are losing customers and future sales over the fraud these cases. I will go out of my way not to purchase from Best Buy in the future.

No one in customer service knew enough to even verify whether that is true. And Best Buy should release it to me--the purchase was made on my account with my credit card. The police can't get it without a subpoena, which is more effort than they will likely put into a case like this. They definitely don't have the time/patience to deal with this customer service. Anyway, I'm done with Best Buy.
