I experienced a Fradulent activity and notified Best Buy however they simply do not care. My previous post was removed and I would not be surprised if they remove that one too.
I notified best buy within 1 hour when fradulent order was placed but they refused to help me.
At this moment I am beyond disappointed with customer service, handling of the data, fraud prevention and general concen about their customers.
Management should be notified about this toxic culture as it will significantly affect the stakeholders and valuation of the company.

Instead of waiting for BBY to do something you need to get the ball rolling too.

I was not sitting and waiting for BBY!! I was very proactive as I described in the previous thread that BBY moderator took down saying "Do not discuss anything to do with a legal issus".
So apparently I cannot say what I did like mentioning that I contacted credit bureau, filed report with FTC, called Best Buy several times etc.
I would not be surprised If my post will get deleted again. It appears to me that Best Buy is censoring free speech which in unconstitutional.
Again I reported the fraud to best buy within 1 hour of the fradulent order placement. The crook opened new credit card under my name likely using info that I left in Best Buy profile. The credit card that was used has my old billing address and my name on it, however I do not have a card with these last 4 digits. So since I dont know where crook opened the credit card I cannot call this institution to cancel that card. And no one in Best Buy was able to help me, which is at least outrageous !

Moreover this looks like an inside job. Package was just shipped and when I checked the tracking the delivery address was only 4 miles away from the Best Buy warehouse where that package was shipped from.
What a coinsidence? Or maybe person who works in that warehouse leaves near by and gained access to my info and order himself some goodies?
The worst is that Best Buy does not care to investigate this issue, instead I am being told to "contact police and your bank". And local police departments do not go after cyber criminals. I cannot contact my bank because I have no idea which bank issued the card to the criminal.

Good afternoon, iTesla,
Welcome to our community forums and thank you for taking the time to let us know about this purchase. Having had my identify stolen, I know how it can feel to see a purchase or transaction that you aren't familiar with. I appreciate you letting us know about this experience and would be glad to give you some more information on how to proceed moving forward.
Based on your posts it sounds like you've already been able to get in touch with us, is that correct? In that case, the agent you spoke to should have escalated this matter to our verification team. Please know that they will not typically follow up with details of their investigation.
I'm glad to hear you've already reached out to several different agencies to get assistance. We have several other recommendations here to take after an unauthorized order has been placed. Because your My Best Buy account was used I would recommend changing the password associated with your account as well as the email address associated with this count.
If you'd like, I would be glad to ensure that the previous agent you spoke to escalated this to our verification team. I will need some more information in order to do so. Can you please send me a private message that includes your:
Full name
Email address
Phone number
You can send me a private message by clicking the blue button at the bottom of this post. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for replying to my messages. I send you private message regarding checking if issue has been escalated to verification team.
Thanks for providing link to other recommendations, unfortunately they do not cover my particular case. Credit card was used with my name on it, however I am not aware where this credit card was open. And because of that I do not know which financial instituation I should contact in order to report the fraud. In other words, I don't recognize this card, however billing adress was one of my old adresses and it was open under my name. I am not aware of that credit card ending in these 4 digits as shown on the order. So this simply indicates to me that it is new credit card recently opened under my name by someone who just gifted himself/herself a new Apple gear.
I changed my password and setup 2-factor authentication.
In addition, I believe that Police does not investigate cyber crimes. I think it is more of a juristidction of FBI iC3 unit.

BBY Card is Citibank which has a fraud unit.
Also I would check your credit reports right away.
There is a site called www.annualcreditreport.com which you are entitled to your credit report online without score. Since we are in a pandemic they allow you to view 1x a week now.
Call the main 3 credit report agencies and file a fraud alert if it warrants such action.

Thanks hockeycanuckjc for reply!
I actually contacted Citibank on the first day but they were unable to look it up. So most likely the credit card was not issued by CitiBank or the crook used somehow was able to open account under my name without using my complete personal information.
I contacted all 3 agencies and setup the fraud alert on the first day. I got my credit reports alos from www.annualcreditreport.com (which advised to me by FTC) and noticed some incorrect personal details. I submitted dispute to correct it (and some of them were already approved).
At this moment it looks like a waiting game until financial institution reports to any of the 3 credit bereaus the opening of the new account. Once it has been report I will know where to call and go from there. But Equifax rep was not able to answer how long will it take so potentially I could be looking at weeks living in anxiety.
Is there anything else I can do at this moment?
