Error when trying to place order

Hi, I'm in the checkout and I've filled out my shipping information, and when I click the "continue to payment information" button I get an error message which says "Sorry, but we can't ship to this address. Please enter a different U.S. address."

 

I tried this on multiple products and I get the same error every time.

This isn't a common situation, you're trying to ship it to your home or office correct?  Not a freight forwarding company or anything like that?

Well Im trying to ship it to a parcel pickup company since Im in canada right next to the border. I suspected that might have been what happened since theres a grey area between a pickup and a forwarder but when I asked them they said people had been able to ship in the past. It could be possible there location got flagged recently without them knowing about it.

 

If that is the case I could have it ship to be picked up at the best buy in grand forks but that is a few hours more to drive there/or an extra step for the parcel place to pick it up.

Welcome to our forums!  We always want to make sure ordering with us through BestBuy.com is a simple and straightforward process, so it’s disappointing to hear there seems to be an issue with you getting any orders placed with us.  With that said, I’m hopeful I’ll be able to shed some light on the situation it sounds like you’ve run into.

 

From what you’ve described, it sounds like the error message you’re receiving telling you we’ll be unable to ship to that address is correct, and there isn’t an alternate shipping option or workaround we’ll be able to provide in order to ship your order there.  However, since you are in Canada, I recommend partnering with our neighbors to the north in Best Buy Canada for your technology purchasing needs.  You’re welcome to visit their site here, one of their brick and mortar stores if any are near you, or connect with them by phone at 1-866-237-8289 to discuss your purchasing options.

well in canada any product that isn't 1 year old is either out of stock or selling for 25% more than the equivalence price in usd...

So why exactly is a parcel pickup place blacklisted if thats literrally what it says to do under the international customers page?

The page you found is for International Customers who are in the US, normally these fail due to the foreign billing address.  This provides a means for them to order and have shipped to their temporary residence or place of business, not to a freight forwarder who will in turn ship it abroad.

 

It's pretty clear when you read the entire page of the intent behind it.  It's not to provide a means to side step the sttatement below, copied directly from the link you provided.

 

  • International orders are intended for use in the U.S., and it is assumed that products will be used in the U.S.

Parcel pickup locations and freight forwarding businesses are not places we ship to.  Your best bet would be to place an in store pickup and go get the item.
