Double charged and no resolve I'm done with Best Buy

Best Buy has a BAD business practice double charging your Debit/Credit card and holding the Authorized amount in processing for an extended amount of time.

Do a search for Best Buy Double Charge and you will see 1000's of people experiencing the same thing.

This has happened to me previously and i should have known better when the amount was considerable before it always less then $100 Decided to upgrade my entertainment center this year and purchased these speakers 3 sets of bookshelves and a TV along with some appliances on sale. in the end they billed for the total and then again for each individual item tying up over a $1000 of my money,

It has been a week and they still have not released the hold on the original authorized amounts. I have called them many times and all ended up the same they just hang up on me mean while i have incurred overdraft charges due to there bad business practices.

So as much as wanted these speakers and the bookshelf's to go with them for a 9.2 system i will be returning everything and never buying from best buy again.

Re: Double charged and no resolve I'm done with Best Buy

Hello, Xtremetib,

Welcome to our community! As there are a lot of great resources here, I'd like to invite you to explore our site when you can.

As someone who keeps an eye on all my pending transactions, I can understand wanting to ensure all is well with the charges associated with your order. I hope to be able to shed some light on this! An authorization hold will be placed on your credit or debit card when you place an order. An initial authorization is done at time of purchase and is removed and releases the authorization after a few days. Best Buy will then re-authorize that amount 5 days prior to release date. Your account will not actually be billed until your order is shipped, delivered or picked up at the store.

With that said, the time required to remove the authorization is determined by the financial institution that issued your card. For clarification, have you had the opportunity to get in touch with them to review this further?

Best Regards,
