Denied Price Match

I purchased a Nikkor lens on BestBuy.com and picked it up from the local store. Today, I contacted Best Buy to request a price match and was told the product is no longer eligible for a match since it is over the 15-day return window. I was surprised as I am not able to find it anywhere on the website that I have only 15 days for requesting a price match. The CSR and his Supervisor were not able to show me where on the website is the policy stated (they were very happy to send me a link to a document). The closest policy is regarding price matches for Best Buy in-store and online prices, not matches with Amazon or other online retailers.

 

The difference is only $20, so not a big deal, but this experience tells me where to shop, or at least where NOT to shop.

The information provided to you was correct, here's the quote from the Price match Guarantee FAQ:

 

"How do I request a price match from a Best Buy retail store?

When making a purchase, or during the return and exchange period, please talk to a Customer Specialist or go to the Customer Service desk for help with your price match request. Please tell us about the lower price that is still in effect that you want the Best Buy retail store to price match. Best Buy will then review and verify the price match request on a Best Buy device. A price match request after a purchase at a store for items shipped to the customer can only be requested by the purchaser (the person who was listed in the “Bill To” section of the order)."

 

The standard return and exchange period is 15 days, while Elite and Elite Plus members get a little longer.  If you qualify for a 15 day return and exchange period, your price match window is the same.  You can read that online here:

As jdogg836 mentioned, our Price Match Guarantee offers to match our own prices during the return and exchange period. Under our Return & Exchange Promise, this is typically 15 days. Beyond this time frame, we would not be able to offer a price match. I know this may have caught you off guard during your interaction to request this price match, but greatly appreciate the opportunity to provide you some clarity.
