When an order is placed on BestBuy.com with a credit or debit card, an authorization is put through to verify the funds are available. The actual charge does not go through until your order is marked ready to be picked up or it is being shipped.
The authorization will typically fall off within a timeframe that is set by the financial institution that issues the card. When modifications are made to an order, it may result in a new authorization being submitted, which should also release the original one, though sometimes depending on the processing of the bank, both authorizations may be present.
