I purchased the pre-owned cell phone online and returned the item unopened. Instead of getting full refund for the return, I've been charged restocking fees of $45, even though it states on Bestbuy.com Return and Exchange: "There is no restocking fee if the product is unopened".
I have reached out to multiple representatives via chat/call, that tell me an "investigation" must be made to see if it was indeed opened... Which I don't know what that could possibly involve. Obviously it's their word against mine and I doubt anything is actually being done.
This is absolutely unacceptable and unethical.

Hi, tapanshah, and welcome to our online community!
Thank you for contacting us on the forum for support. I would be wondering about this restocking fee as well if I were you, and I'm glad you've reached out to us for assistance. If the cell phone was completely unopened, I definitely understand your concern. We'd never want to wrongfully charge a customer in this situation.
I'd like the chance to look into this further if you could please send me a private message including your full name, email, phone number, and order number. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.
All the best,
