Cashier claims I cannot purchase an additional warranty?

I purchased an Elgato Stream Deck XL on October 1st.

 

The cashier said that I was unable to purchase a longer warranty with it, but that somehow seems doubtful. You offer warranties for everything else in the store, right?

 

She also could not give me a printed receipt, so I'm guessing she is a fairly new employee?

 

When I looked online, your website said I could purchase a 3-year warranty for around $40.

 

Since I have not yet even opened the box, can I bring it back to another store so that I can purchase a 3-year warranty?

 

This item costs around $265. I don't like spending that kind of money without a good warranty.

I just verified via BestBuy.com, adding the item to my cart provides no Geek Squad Protection offers.  In this instance, it does seem that the cashier is correct and there is currently no coverage available to purchase on the Stream Deck XL.  Coverage has always been limited to select categories, and can added or removed based on a number of factors.  It is possible that this has changed since you had checked the item previously.

I guess the option for an extended warranty may have just happened to have changed within that 24 hour period. It was definitely there before. 

Do you know if there is a quick way and reliable to check to see if any specific product on the website has an option to purchase a warranty?

The only sure-fire way to validate is on the individual product pages.  99% of the time it shows up between the Price and the Add to Cart option on the right hand side of any given product page. Depending on the item and the number of options this could be a big space, just look for the "Protect your XXX" section.  You can also add an item to your cart.  This usually triggers a pop-up with the offer to add whichever plans are available but if not it will show up under Protection Plans if you view the cart.
