Cancelled Order

I finally talked myself into a large purchase, and then got excited about it. I even got furniture to go with it and requested time off from work to have a five day weekend after it arrived. I was counting down the days. Then, five days later, instead of a "Your order has been shipped." email I got a "Your order has been canceled." What?!?! I called customer service. The first guy couldn't even help me, so he forwarded me to another guy. That guy told me that I had cancelled the order through the app because, "changed mind." Um. NO! Apparently, the order can't be uncancelled, but I will be issued a refund. Then when the refund is processed, I can purchase the same item again (hopefully it's still on sale by then). Unfortunately, it's going to take at least an extra week longer to get, and I can't get my wasted five day weekend refunded. Thanks, (not exactly the) Best Buy...

Thanks for the post though it certainly doesn't describe a situation I like to hear about. Having an order unexpectedly cancel sounds frustrating. 

 

I'd like to review this, making sure everything was refunded as it should and double-check the cancellation issue if that would be alright. If so, I'd just ask that you send the following information via a private message:

-Order Number

So, it’s not on sale anymore, but I went into my local Best Buy. The customer service rep there was happy to take care of this for me. She couldn’t figure out why it was canceled either, but the sale price will still be honored. Unfortunately, I still won’t be able to get it as soon.

So, update for the last couple weeks: While waiting to make sure the refund processed completely, I noticed the item went "Sold Out" I went  back to the local Best Buy and let them know the new dilemma. They said if I found a comparable item, they would see what they could do on the price. I browsed the online selection and found a couple similar products with "original prices" within $100 below the "original price" of the original item. The problem is, they would only come down $150 max. The original item was on sale for $450 off. (Not a clearance price because it had gone back to full price before it was sold out.)

Welcome back, although I'm sorry to hear the product in which you had interest has become unavailable. I know I would be quite frustrated by that myself.

 

I was happy to hear that the store personnel were willing to work with you on a discount for a new purchase. I would encourage you to continue working with them toward the purchase of your new computer.

...except they won’t give me a price anywhere near the sale price that I had ordered before it mysteriously got canceled. Almost sounds like false advertising to lure customers in. No thanks. I’ll deal directly with the manufacturer.
