This letter not only serves as a request, but as a plea for someone to reach out to my family and I.
On June, 25th, 2020 I placed an order for almost $3,000 worth of kitchen appliances. On July, 8th, 2020 I received an email from Best Buy that my order was cancelled. On the same day, I went to try and place the order again, but the funds were not refunded. Since then, I have probably called in 15+ times, spoken to numerous agents on the online chat, as well as reached out to store managers, Best Buy Forums, and any other person/outlet that I could think of to try and get help. I have been transferred and transferred and transferred with no luck of finding any answers.
I have heard from representatives that the order was cancelled because of the items being out of stock. I have heard from representatives that they are unsure as to why the order was cancelled. No one could give me an answer about why the funds have not been returned.
These past 25 days have been full of stress and anxiety. Not only are my family on the verge of moving into a new home in the middle of a pandemic, but we are now short $3,000 for appliances that are a necessity. This is not money that can just be easily replaced. It is money that my family has saved up for months to purchase these appliances.
Can someone reach out with some sort of solution?

Good afternoon, kcolli5,
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for reaching out regarding your appliance order refund! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate between moving your family into a new home and needing appliances delivered. I'm sorry to hear that your order was cancelled, and that on top of not being able to be provided a firm answer on why, you have been left wondering where your refund is.
It sounds like your order may have been paid for with Best Buy gift cards. Gift cards are generally charged immediately upon an order being placed on BestBuy.com, but should be refunded pretty quickly (within a day) upon an order's cancellation. If this order was placed in store though, it's possible this order has been waiting for the store to process the refund on their end. I would be delighted to take a closer look at this, but would require a few more details. Please feel welcome to send a private message my way with your name, phone number, email address, and order number.

I was told that my order was cancelled because items were backordered. They said that the funds were refunded to the gift cards the SAME day the order was cancelled. I told them that they were not because I have checked the balances every day. They went on to confirm that the cards were used to purchase ipads, macbooks, and TV's across 3 different states. They said that one gift card was even cashed out in a state that I do not live in. How does this happen?
It seems like I have been scammed and no one can do anything to help I am trying to get in contact with the Best Buy fraud department.

Best Buy's Fraud department does not speak to customers. That's what I was told. I was also told that my case has been thoroughly reviewed. 😢 I won't give up. I will continue to call Best Buy like I have been to try and get answers. Unfortunately, I've read more and more situations like this that have been left unresolved.
