On April 26, I first try to purchase a laptop on bestbuy.com. I also applied and got approved for the best buy credit card, that I was planning to use for 24-month financing. In that week they have the 4-day sale special which gave me a $500 discount on the laptop I was trying to purchase. So I went place my order which was over my best buy credit limit so it was canceled. I went to my local best buy store to purchase $1000 worth of best buy gift cards so I can make my purchase. I got home to place an order for the same laptop and it got canceled again. it says that it was a payment problem so I called Citibank(my best buy credit card) customer support phone number and they fix the problem. it was late so i wait till next day to try to make my purchase.
Long story short the next day I try multiple times to place an order wich they all got canceled and I contact Citibank and best buy customer support multiple times. And I got the message online that I reached the limit of orders for the day, which was the last day of the 4-day sale special. I was exhausted and frustrated with this experience that I give up on trying to contact the best buy customer support and I decide I will just wait until the next best buy special discount on the laptop I was trying to buy and see if I had more luck.
Wich was today May 11. Best buy had the laptop I wanted with a $250 discount. I again place my order using my $1000 worth of best buy gift cards and financing the rest for 12 months with the My BestBuy credit card. Less than a minute later my order got canceled. I called Best Buy customer support which they told me they cannot verify my information. BestBuy customer support went with me over the phone checking every little detail in my payment info for any possible mistake I made that would trigger the cancellation, which there were not any. He then told me basically there nothing else he can do; my payment info looks right and everything looks ok, and there is nothing else he can do about it. That if I want I can go to the BestBuy store and try to convince a store manager to honor the BestBuy.com discount and sell me the laptop. Wich I know is not going to happen and I am not trying to spend the rest of my day on a store and get more stressed and frustrated that I am right now.
Im giving up on BestBuy and I'm not gonna try again to make a purchase with them. Now my question is if there is any possibility for me to get a cash refund for my best buy gift card(I know the return policy says that gift cards are not returnable), so I can buy the laptop from another place that had a discount. And if not, who I need to contact that would be able to: 1) give a refund for my gift cards, or 2) sell me the laptop that I was trying to purchase and honor the discount. Or if there is no hope for me I just need to eat the $1000 BestBuy gift cards loss and punched the wall.
