Best Buy gift card failed authorization

I tried to buy something on the app with a gift card and I was sent a message about how the gift card failed to authorize; failed authorization. The balance still hasn’t returned. I tired calling the number for the card but it’s no longer in service and it’s just balance inquiries. What can one due without driving out of town to the closes location

Welcome back to our Best Buy forum community and thanks for taking the time to share this with us! Having a gift card to apply towards a purchase is meant to be a time of excitement, but I can understand why it wouldn't feel that way if your purchase cancelled due to an issue with the gift card. That's a far cry from the stress-free shopping experience we wanted for you!

 

I wish that things had gone smoother with this order. However, I'm glad you said something for us to step in and see what's going on. Usually, when an order with a gift card cancels, the funds will appear back on the gift card within 24-hours. If you still aren't seeing that reflected, please use the "Private Message" option in my signature to send over your full name, phone number, email and cancelled order number. Once I have that info, I can look into this further!
