Best Buy Ground Delivery is the worst

I paid for Totaltech Membership despite having had MyBBY Elite+ taken months pre-maturely from my account per Best Buy's changes.

A frustration of mine hasn't gone away: BBYGD. I know the GD stands for ground delivery but frankly I think it stands for something else, because it's so GD frustrating.

I specifically set an order to be delivered tomorrow, because I wasn't going to be available today. Guess what?

It went out today! I got the call while I was at a doctor's appointment, and then I see the e-mail when I got home that delivery was "attempted" and my item is being returned. Cool, thanks for making me wait EVEN LONGER than what I initially requested, plus dealing with chat, plus dealing with the possibiltiy that chat didn't fix the issue and then having to deal with issues of RZ certificates because that's how I paid for the item.

I never want to use BBYGD, but there's no ability to opt out. There's no ability to ask to at least just leave the delivery at the front door. There is nothing that BBYGD does well that wouldn't be better suited by USPS or UPS. It does nothing but create customer disappoinments and lead me into a store asking for a gift card for my troubles.

Can a mod acknowledge how bad this service is and that Best Buy needs to fix it, or not offer it?

Hi there, Boywhiz88,

Thank you for taking the time to connect with us here on the Forums!

I can understand your feelings regarding this order delay, as ordering something with an expected date of arrival then having that date change can be frustrating. I would like to see how I can assist here.

To begin, please send me a private message with the order number, as well as your full name, phone number, and email address. You can send me a private message by logging into the Forums and clicking on the blue button across from my signature on this post.

Re: Best Buy Ground Delivery is the worst

For those keeping track at home:

The TotalTech Chat agent was mistaken/lied, and I was correct. The item was returned and I received myBBY points back that had been used in the acquisition.

I am now waiting on a ready signal for an in-store pick-up I made around 2/3A, so probably fairly early in their pick queue. At this time, it's 20 minutes after open and I still haven't received the e-mail, so I suspect I am going to receive some kind of message that the item is not available and will need to be shipped.

This will put me now into several days past when I requested the item. Again, all of this could have been avoided if Best Buy:

1. Shipped the item in the timeline I requested

2. Provided the capacity to request an item be left at a door

3. Provided a single number that their delivery people use. No one picks up random numbers calling them these days. Do BBY corporate people not experience spam phone calls?

4. Provided the ability to attempt re-delivery rather than automatic return after one failed attempt.

Bam. I've done the work for corporate. Now let's have them turn to their wonderful people they have programming their website and app to implement these easy QoL changes.
