Authorization Charges

Is it true that you guys do an authorization charge every week for pre-orders until the item comes out? If I don't have enough money in my bank account will my order be canceled?

I haven't heard about every week until the item comes out, but I think they do the first authorization at the time of the order and the 2nd a few days before it comes out (if there's a lengthy period of time between the pre-order and release date) and if the 2nd one fails then you have something like 24hours to fix the issue before it gets cancelled.
I am not a forum moderator nor voice of corporate. One of the corporate moderators will be with you as soon as they can for the official response from Best Buy. The forums work on a first come, first serve basis and it can take a while for a response.

Alright, thank God. Someone on a different thread said they issue multiple authorization charges before the item ships. I'm worried because I don't have much money in my account right now.

Failed Authorization?

I recently placed a pre-order and after putting in my card information, I got a failed authorization email. I fixed the information and the authorization hold was placed on my bank account. Since then I've gotten the money back. I know that's normal but today I went to check on my order and it said failed authorization under the total amount. I haven't gotten any emails (it's been a week) about another failed authorization. Why does it still say failed authorization? There's no button to fix it since the information is correct now.

Thank you for taking the time to post and let us know about your issue. We absolutely want you to be able to get that pre-order on time!

 

When an order is in a failed authorization status, that usually means there is an issue with the form of payment.  Unfortunately, I am not able to modify payment over our Forums here, but I do know who can!  If you call 1-888-BEST-BUY(1-888-237-8289) they should be able to correct that issue and get your order back on track.
