Apple Watch Pre-order

I'm finding myself wandering what the purpose of a pre-order is.  I placed my preorder the morning of the 15th (the first day I could) and my order status just continues to show processing and says it will ship by Oct 13....3 weeks after I could've walked into the apple store and bought it.

Welcome to our forums. I know how frustrating it can be when your order is delayed, especially when it’s for something as exciting at the new Apple Watch. I’m sorry to hear there seems to be a delay in your order, and I apologize for any disappointment this experience has caused.

 

Using the information you’ve provided upon joining our forums, I’ve successfully located your order. While I wish I could provide you a sooner date than what it sounds like you’re aware of, we’re still awaiting Apple to provide us additional inventory, before we can fulfill your order. I’m optimistic you’ll be able to receive your Apple Watch by October 13th, and I recommend keeping an eye on your inbox for any updates regarding your order.

One other thing, when I checked out initially on my preorder it looks as though it did not charge taxes. My order status screen notes that the taxes have been updated. Is there an action I need to take to pay the taxes or will the system automatically update and charge my card for the taxes when it ships?

Welcome back Bbostate20,

 

Although the taxes on your order may have been recalculated, you won't have to take any further action to make sure your card is successfully charged.  Once your order is shipped, your card will be charged the correct amount for your Apple Watch.

So my order placed on 9-15-17 has said processing and expected to ship 10-13-17. Here we are on 10-13-17 and it still says processing, not preparing or shipped or completed but still just processing. What is the likelihood this thing actually ships when your system says it would?

I don’t blame you for being frustrated with the delay of your Apple Watch, and I’m truly sorry to hear you still have not received your order, over a month after it’s been placed. We’re hopeful we’ll be receiving additional inventory from Apple, and will be able to provide you your Apple Watch soon. In the meantime, we’ll share any additional information with you that we can via email.

Any new inventory yet? I would like to know if BestBuy has any policy to fulfill preorders before selling in their stores?

As I mentioned, any updates regarding the delivery date of your order should be sent to the email address associated with your order.  Reviewing your order, it looks like we’re still waiting for additional inventory from Apple before we’re able to send you your Apple Watch.  Our pre-orders are fulfilled in the order we receive them.

So since the last email I got said it would cancel my order if not fulfilled by 11/12 and here we are on 11/7 with no inventory update I should basically just assume my order is going to be canceled. Thanks for nothing Best Buy.
