After many years of being elite plus, I will never shop again at Best Buy

The customer service has been slowly declining for years, but after this past weekend, I will never shop at Best Buy again.

I had placed an order for in store pickup for an iPad Pro. After placing the order, I saw the promo for free magic keyboard that was supposed to be included. I called up to get it added to my order and they told me it had to be done in store. I went to the store to pick up the iPad and asked them to add the keyboard. They told me there was no such promotion for it even though I was showing them on my phone. They refused to add it to my order so I canceled it.

I called customer service to see what the issue was and they were able to add the keyboard to my order so I went back to the store to pick it up again. When I was there I wanted to price match and was told I had to call up customer service since it was an online order. So I left the store and called. I was waiting on the phone for 2 hours as no supervisor was responding to the agent that I was on the phone with. The agent told me he would call me back the next day.

The next day I called up to see if the price match was approved. I was on hold and the agent came back and said it was declined and then hung up on me. I immediately went back to Best Buy to return my purchase. I will purchase the iPad elsewhere and I will never shop at Best Buy again. I have been elite plus for many years and I will not be disrespected like this again.

I was looking at iPads and found a promo for a discount on a magic keyboard but not a free one.

These forums are not for immediate assistance, depending on current traffic it can take a few days for the moderators to reach your post.  With that said, like @bobberuchi I also do not recall this promotion.  As an employee who also maintains Elite or better status with my purchases, I subscribe to the various promotional emails to maintain awareness around the current offers.  Hopefully the moderators will reach your post soon, and once they do I hope they can clear up any offers that may have been in effect.

After being on hold for 2 plus hours without a response, apparently the phone isnt made for immediate assistance.  

 

The promo expired this past sunday and was a student deal

Once you bundled a promo item with it, like a free keyboard, they can no longer price match as bundles are excluded.
