delivery problems

I purchased a Samsung top-loading washer from the Best Buy store in Niles, IL, in March 2019. Best Buy delivered the machine at the arranged time, installed it promptly, and did not inform me of any problems. That day, the washer stopped spinning before finishing its cycles and left the clothes dripping wet.

I arranged with the store to have the machine replaced. When the second crew arrived they looked at the machine and said they could not replace it because they could not turn off the faucet and it appeared corroded. They checked with the Best Buy Office and she agreed. She said we would first need to hire a plumber to replace the faucet.

I am therefore very dissatisfied with my experience with Best Buy's appliance installation.

Re: delivery problems

Welcome to the Best Buy forums, John_Chicago,

It's very interesting that the first installation team didn't have any issues installing this washer, but I could certainly understand why you're letting us know about this if you're being told a plumber would need to stop out for the swap to take place.  Although I realize I'm unable to change this outcome, I would like to take a closer look at your order notes.

Please send me your order number that is associated with this last visit about the faucet being unable to be turned off.  This will allow me the opportunity to read over the notes, but know that I'll need some additional information to make any follow ups!  Click the blue button in my signature line below to send me this order number in a private message.

Looking forward to working with you soon!

After the second crew left I examined the faucet. There was some resistance but i was able to turn on and off the water.  The faucet is old but I wouldn't consider it corroded or in need of replacement..A little lubricant would probably solve it.

The orde is {removed per forum guidelines}

Re: delivery problems

Hello again, John_Chicago,

We strive to keep your information your own by making sure your personal information doesn't stay on our public forums.  I've removed the order number you've provided, but I've also had the opportunity to look at the order you've provided, but I believe this is the initial one that was set up, and not the swap of machines.  Since this order originated in the store, have you had the chance to speak to a leader from this location.

I'd be unable to say if lubrication would solve the faucet, but we certainly wouldn't want to have your basement flooded if something were to go wrong with that connection.  If our Agents asked you to replace this connection, I'd have to recommend doing so, even though it may just need some lubrication.  Please work with a plumber to make sure it turns on an off with ease.  I recommend this to make sure you protect your home from anything that could go wrong with the resistance you're speaking about.

I do apologize that I don't have the response you were hoping for, but know we're only trying to make sure your home is safe.
