best buy elite + member denied service Supervisor Aaron did not feel comfortable selling to me.

Went after work to pick up some gift cards to be used as work gifts for my company as I do every Christmas. At checkout the cashier radioed for the supervisor for approval. Cashier stated it may take a while as the supervisor was busy. While waiting I headed to the store pick up area to pick up a couple orders I made online then returned to the original checkout. The supervisor Aaron asked how much I was buying. When i stated the amount the supervisor acted shocked and then stated he did not feel comfortable selling that amount of gift cards. I asked him how much I could buy and Aaron said he did not feel uncomfortable selling ANY gift cards to me. He would not explain why he felt uncomfortable. I asked he was a supervisor and he stated he was. I noted his name down and left the store without any additional purchase. 

Was he profiling me in some way? As a best buy elite plus member i was shocked and surprised. My caucasian spouse has no issues when she purchases gift cards at the store. Disappointed in management and customer service.

We appreciate you taking the time to post this, and I can of course understand you being concerned by this when you were trying to purchase gifts for your company. We do have internal limitations in place on gift cards, to help fight against illegal activity; this includes limiting a gift card to be funded to a maximum of $500. We also have Best Buy for Business, where you could work with an account manager for your business towards any purchases intended for you business.
