i recently purchased a new 16" macbook pro i9 and had an overheating problem. so i returned to the best buy in huntington and well, first of all the employees were professional and polite. the salesperson began pushing the i7 model saying this will definatly work. i asked if i could just retrun and he begins to tell me "well yes but we will have to send you a check" a store of this size does not have the CASH?? so i was pressured into exchanging for the i7 model and guess what THE SAME PROBLEM!!
i live an hour and a half away and it sucks because i am not driving all the way just for them to try and push another mac on me or have to wait to get my money back when i paid CASH
oh and i ordered a imac from apple and it works perfect
i really do not want to make that road trip to go thru this again. made me feel real uncomfortable.

Well this is a good reason to use a credit card such as a Best Buy Credit card as you would have had your money right away.
From a security standpoint it makes very good sense for a store to not keep that much cash on hand.
It is not Best Buys fault if Apple is sending out defective products.
Best Buy did not manufacture the 2 defective Apple computers you received. Apple did.
And I imagine you had to use a Credit Card to purchase the computer from Apple

Good afternoon, rickstr1964,
Thank you for joining our Community and sharing your experience with us. As someone who recently upgraded my personal laptop, I know selecting the right one for you can take some time. Once you have found the right laptop, it’ll ideally work as expected and not have any issues, so it’s disappointing to hear the previous two MacBooks you’ve purchased have been having some trouble with overheating, and you’ve needed to return them as a result.
As bobberuchi and jdogg836 have mentioned, if you paid more than $800 in cash for your purchase, you can expect your refund by check within 10 business days. This is outlined in the terms of our Return & Exchange Promise, which you’ll find here.
Using the information you’ve provided upon joining our Support Forums, I see you were able to return your MacBook to your local Best Buy store, and I’m optimistic the replacement MacBook you’ve ordered elsewhere will fit your needs.
Regards,
