I went into the store in Reston Virginia today to talk to a manager about a price match on my recent purchase of a Nest Thermostat. The managers name was Mike...very rude and unprofessional. The guy was not even listening to what I had to say and walked away from me twice in less than one minute to talk to another employee. When I was done trying to explain to him my concerns he cut me off and says "I am not going to price match Amazon, you can call customer service if you want"
I called customer service and sat on the phone fo 20 minutes...then I got hung up on as soon as someone answered. Terrible customer service. The website clearly states that Best Buy matches Amazon. AND...Best Buy was selling the thermostat for a lower price than what I was inquiring about getting on Black Friday. I would like someone from Best Buy to contact me and explain some of the things I was told today in the store. The phone customer service number is worthless!

Nope...I was IN the store. First they had a sign up for a price and color I was told was not available, AND could not be ordered. Why even have the sign up? Second online said they had one in stock, they did not-not a big deal. I asked to order one and price match, they said I could not price match any item that was not a regular Amazon item. I showed them the exact Prime fulfilled item on my phone and they flat out refused. I went home and found it on another site and Amazon for less came back and talked to the manager on duty Mike...He was neither helpful or professional. Had an attitude that I do not want to describe on a public forum. I used to love Best Buy...I hope Amazon puts them out of business. I was a retail manager for 30 plus years. I know the game...you get what you give.

You are trying to get a price match for Amazon for a previous purchase?
They only price match other retailers at the time of the original purchace. They price match them selves within your return period.
They dont match any black Friday deals whatsoever

It is true that a price match to a different competitor must be completed at the time of purchase. This is outlined in our Price Match Guarantee. Any price match after the initial purchase would be to ourselves within the Returns & Exchange Promise time frame. It sounds like you'd tried to make this purchase in our store while providing them with the photo of the lower price on Amazon, but were still denied. Without knowing all of the details, I must say that does sound odd, but I'm happy to investigate it further to find out what had happened by speaking with this store.
Can you let me know which Nest Thermostat you were planning to buy? I'm happy to begin looking into what options we have in regard to price matching.
