Worst Customer Service

I purchased a Google hub max on 3/29. When I brought it home and tried it out I realized it didn’t have night vision on the camera. I decided to return it. I went in yesterday on 4/15, no greeting at the door no help in figuring out where to return items. I waited in line at the cashier and figured out returns were here. When I went to the cashier he told me if I had a receipt, I told him no I never received a receipt and I told it would be emailed to me and never was. Come to find out the previous cashier on 3/29 insert my email wrong, I ALWAYS say it’s my first and last name 09, they forgot the 09. He said they could probably make an exception and brought the manager over. Come to find out the manager was the rude lady at the door from the beginning of the story.

I was told they couldn’t take it back and I explained to her this was the employee’s fault for not putting in the correct email and didn’t verify the email with me. She said they can do store credit and I told her that was not good enough. I went outside and called Best Buy and the customer service rep said she wanted to talk to the manager. I went back inside the store and the manager was “on the phone now” shocking.

The customer service rep spoke to a store rep and he took my phone and apparently lost the call.

I got a store credit, sold the card to my boyfriend and WILL NEVER go back to Best Buy again.

What kind of company has a 15 day return policy? What kind of company wouldn’t honor the mistake that THEY made by not giving me a receipt?

We will see how long Best Buy will last in Bangor,ME I’m sure they will be gone soon.

As you mentioned, we do offer a 15-day return or exchange period for most of the products we sell. I'm disappointed to hear that the solution the manager at this location didn't work for you.


As part of our My Best Buy program we do offer the ability to view your purchase history. Additionally, your contact information would be automatically loaded when making a purchase if you use your account in-store to help ensure you are able to locate your future purchases.
