The thing is, I specifically requested for the screen protector to be installed. I would think that if the customer is asking, then it is understood that geek squad would not be responsible if there's a problem. I even said "well, if the install doesn't work, then I will just get another screen protector."
I mean, I don't see how the device itself would be damaged from simply applying a screen protector if that's the concern. As it just so happens, my local stores don't even have a screen protector in stock for the Galaxy Tab S7. If they did, I would have purchased the screen protector from BestBuy and it might have been a different story.

Geek Squad Labor (shield installs included) has a guarantee behind it. Maybe you wouldn't expect it to be guaranteed, but plenty of others will and it is included in the written scope of work for a shield install. If we can't guarantee it, we won't do it. It's really that simple.
How could it be damaged? If it is a liquid type, that solution can ingress the unit and damage the device. For a dry install type, there is little chance of damage for the unititself but a failed install of the shield will render it unusable. If we sell it, that's easily rectified. On a shield from somewhere else, we have no replacement solution. Again, this is why we don't do it. You may not expect us to replace it, but a lot of people do.
