Went to store to buy iPad Pro, received wrong item and a credit card.

Hello, to whoever can see this message. I have been a long time client of best buy, over 15 years.

 

I went to the east hanover location in new jersey, purchased an ipad after aproximately 1 hour of going back and forth, opened a credit line for $2000 and finally walked home with the item.

 

I needed this item to use as a tool for work...

 

After getting home, i realized that they gave me the wrong item, I asked the person helping multiple times to make sure that it was the correct "latest generation ipad" after pointing to the display on the apple section. All seemed good.

 

after driving to the store again the next day, asking to please not screw the purchase one more time.

We looked up the sku number, ordered the correct item and was promised to have the item at the store by thursday, which was yesterday. After calling the store, they gave me a runaround and told me to wait a few more days. I don't believe them as their incompetency was proven twice!

 

After calling other stores, i find out on my own that apparently no one had an idea that the item had not been ordered. 

I am trapped with a line of credit and 6 days later i have to drive to the store for a third time to make an order again???

 

It's 5 days without a tool that i drove to get because of the convinience of the store. I should have just gone to the apple store from day one.

 

Can anyone help???

Thank you for visiting us here on our community forums. I know an iPad is a big purchase and with so many different models getting the correct one is a big deal. I would be happy to see what we can do to help. Typically the store where you made this purchase would have more tools to assist you, have you had the opportunity to speak to a store manager at our Best Buy East Hanover location? If not, I would be glad to reach out to them on your behalf. What dates and times did you visit this store? Do you remember the names of the associates you spoke to?

Thank you. I already solved the problem as I see no reason to continue shopping at the east hanover location. I must have called at least 8 times and spent 3 or more hours on the phone. I went to the Rockaway location and they were very helpful, they took matters into their own hands and understood my frustration. Both the apple rep and the store managers were great.

Seems as if things need to be shaken up at east hanover. Not sure if you see all the other negative reviews of this store, it's a shame since it's a great location and the company seems to be losing money on reviews alone.
