Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. Congratulations on your anniversary. I apologize that a poor experience with Best Buy put something of a damper on it for you.
Our Price Match Guarantee allows us to match our own lower price on an item one time per purchase within the return period prescribed under our Return & Exchange Promise. For most folks that works out to a fifteen day period after purchase where you can get the price matched on most products.
You mentioned in your post that you are working towards an Elite My Best Buy membership. Once you achieve Elite status the return period is extended to thirty days, which also extends the price match availability period. Beyond that, if you reach Elite Plus status you’ll extend that period to 45 days. I hope that you’ll consider continuing to shop with us so that you can take advantage of these programs.
Regarding trading in the Beats, our Trade-In program is different from a return and would not offer the full retail price on an item that is traded in. I apologize if the chat agent you spoke with gave you an unclear or incorrect impression of how that program works. I will be sure to document this in our corporate systems so that we can avoid any miscommunication like this in the future. Thank you very much for taking the time to share this with us.
