Verizon phone return issue

I recently switched to Verizon and purchased a new iPhone 14 Pro via payment plan at Best Buy...but after a week was unsatisfied with the service at my house and wanted to return it. I was afraid of losing my phone number so I ported back to T-Mobile. then walked next door to return the phone at Best Buy. When I was helped by the Customer Service Rep at the Mobile counter, he stated that because ported, he was no longer able to associate the return with my account...and lo and behold, I have been charged for the phone.

How do go about getting this Best Buy return applied to my now-closed Verizon account?
