Unprofessional management

I’m writing this review unfortunately after being treated extremely poor by the management at the North Charleston, sc rivers ave Best Buy on many occasions by a manager named Treneice… now to explain more I have been employed at this Best Buy and worked under her for years and have never spoken out about her for fear of losing my job, which after chatting with several employees who work there presently feel the same fear.. Thankfully I’m no longer employed at this Best Buy under her and now can speak freely in hopes of helping the store succeed in a few weak areas that set up major problems… back when I was employed there I was talked down to by treneice daily and now as a customer she still speaks and treats me rudely and I’ve witnessed her treating other employees rudely as well.. an example of that is saying blueberry patches (meaning blue shirts aka employees) are not allowed to hang out and to scatter if they want to keep their jobs… this happened several times when employees would gather to discuss work or divide side work evenly amongst each other… I recently filled out a application to return to Best Buy because I heard they changed their management around.. well as soon as I walked in the door to drop off my resume I was greeted by employees warning things are worse now than ever and that everyone is miserable and have plans to leave… well I still went to drop off my resume where I learned Treneice is in charge of hiring… she decided to rudely raise her voice at me and say applications are online only and she then said if interested we will call you and dismissed me... well thankfully she didn’t call me as I would have turned down working under her again… I know she has children but your employees are not your children and should be spoken to with respect and in a professional manner… I’ve been a manager and it’s really not difficult to treat your staff respectfully as well as the customers!! also i would like to address the attitude management has about faking it till you make it with the customer… since several managers tell employees that and leave them hanging.. it only hurts the customer… stop telling your employees that and help find the solution for the customer.. the list really goes on and on with how unprofessional management is there and as a customer I won’t shop there and support this toxic negativity… Everytime I shop there and Treneice is there I hear her talking down to someone or me. Needless to say I won’t be back and if I do go back it will only be to sample a product and I’ll give another company my money.. well I hope this review helps open the eyes to the higher ups as I would love to continue shopping at Best Buy but that locations needs a lot of love that management isn’t giving

"blueberry patches (meaning blue shirts aka employees) are not allowed to hang out and to scatter if they want to keep their jobs…"

I don't really see a problem with this....

Re: Unprofessional management

I read it... Customers don't care why employees are grouping. They only see that employees are talking amongst themselves on the sales floor instead of helping them out.

Re: Unprofessional management

Well I could see if employees were grouping in large amounts but saying that to people while in groups of 2 or 3s when no one is in the store is a bit extreme.. yea that’s when we clean and down stock and help each other with tasks and such but to expect not to see employees talking briefly is a bit unrealistic during down time.. I mean they want us to work as a team and do team building exorcises such as role playing and ask each other questions and learn but then threaten our jobs if we speak so it leaves employees in an environment that leaves them walking on egg shells… not to mention the managers group together and take breaks at the same time leaving no manager on the floor.. so it’s kinda double standard

Re: Unprofessional management

If a bunch of sales people can't handle the store while a few managers take a break, the sales people deserve to be retrained, or told to break up groups,(2 or 3 together is a group), or even replaced when the managers are done with Thier break.

Re: Unprofessional management

Well corporate luckily disagreed with you put a stop to it as far as I know but yea it seems you think it’s ok to talk down to employees and making them feel like walking on egg shells is ok and given the fact your fighting me at every corner and not being logical while doing it… none of this is ok would be the proper reply and if you disagree I would feel sorry for your staff
