Unable to purchase Geek Squad warranty on new Logitech G PRO X Wireless DTS Headphones

The other day, I stopped into my local Best Buy and picked up a pair of the Logitech G PRO X Wireless DTS Headphones and noticed I wasn't able to purchase the warranty. I asked why and was told they didn't know. I then tried to purchase another pair online and sure enough, the option was missing.

 

Is this new or is Best Buy phasing out warranties? I just found it odd.

Certain products may not have Geek Squad Protection offered on it. There can be various reasons for this, but I would not consider that as a sign that they are going away company wide. Sometimes it’s due to offerings from the manufacturer, such as AppleCare on Apple products, standard warranty that is as long or longer than our offerings, systems issues for newly entering or exiting classes, categories of products with rampant abuse of our Geek Squad Protection, etc. These are not dealt with at the store or customer support levels, so anyone in those roles are likely to not have an answer as to the why. Maybe the moderators will have some insight when they reach your post.

I just added a lesser model into the cart and the service is available.  I then added the DTS and it is not for them.

 

I would hold off and give it a few days to see it is just a glitch and if it will show up.

Welcome back to our community forums. Having a Geek Squad Protection plan is never a bad idea, especially on a set of headphones.

 

At this time, Geek Squad Protection plans are here to stay but may not always be available on every product in our inventory. If you already have an existing plan you'll still be able to use it even if it may not be available for future purchases.
