Store purchase info

Hello, my name is Gianmarco {removed per forum guidelines} and I've purchased a phone in the BestBuy store in Manhattan last week.

It's the Google Pixel 3a 64gb unlocked version (g02g0). I' m an European citizen.

I' ve decided to buy the phone with my credit card and after seeing the price on the screen it was offered me the possibility to pay in Dollars or Euros. No one told me there would be a difference and the shop assistant assured me that it would be the same. After selecting payment in Euro  the receipt was printed and only at that point I' ve seen  that there is a 3, 5% margin so I' ve payed 405,96 euro instead of 391,34 euro.

Inclusion margin wasn' t written on the screen and shop assistant didn't told me anything, instead he told me that was no difference between the two payment method. I consider it a unfair treatment and unfair comunication.

Two of my friend purchased electronic in your store the same day, and to both of them was told to pay in dollar so that the price wold have been lower. No one told me that and it is not written on the screen.

I' d like to be repaid for the difference considering that no one told me about that.

Otherwise I' m returning my phone. How do i return it from Italy? Will there be problems at the US customs?

Phone purchased on 12/13/2019 in the Manhattan Store (5th Ave).

To return it, you have have to have someone in the US do it for you, within the 15 day return period. They dont accept overseas shipments.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. Paying more than you are expecting is a bad experience, and something that always aggravates me when it happens.

 

That said, we are transparent with our currency conversion fees, and we display the total including that fee on our PIN pads before our customers make the decision. I'm sorry that you missed that

 

As nckjammond noted, any return must be done in person, so we'd need you or a friend to come back in to one of our stores with that phone in order to return it.
