Our Geek Squad protection plans are a great way to protect your electronics. That being said, the pricing of these plans is dependent on the price of the TV. The higher the price, the higher the protection plan will be. That being said, if the price of the TV was not changing, the price of the protection plan shouldn't have changed either. Did the store provide you with any information on this by any chance? I'm not quite sure what may have happened here but I'd love to see if I can help.
