My parents bought me a surface pro 6 a week ago (7 days) and also the geek squad protection plan. I noticed vertical lines on the screen. Am I able to exchange it for a working one? I just have a photo of the receipt. Thank you for the help!

Sounds like you're well within the return policy. Go ahead and go into your local store and they should be able to swap that out assuming the screen wasn't damaged in any way. Issues like this are very much why a return policy is in place to make sure folks make sure their product is working the way they should.
