I am hoping to gain some claification/answer. I need to obtain a proof of purchase for my macbook pro, in order to receive customer support from Apple.
I purchased the laptop in November/December 2019 at the BestBuy in Beaverton, OR. I have been using the laptop for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, I am having some firmware issues and Apple is willing to help if I can provide a proof of purchase.I do not remember where the receipt is and paid with cash.
While speaking to the Apple rep, he conveyed that he previously worked at BestBuy and a receipt may be obtainable via a serial number search, and recommended to visit BestBuy. I went to my local BestBuy (in California), and while they did their best to help, they could not find the receipt. However, the associate explained they could not search by serial number on their end, but that it may be possible if I returned to the Beaverton, OR location.
1) Is it possible to find a receipt via serial number?
2) What other options may I have to obtain proof of purchase? Apple isnt willing to help without it, and my laptop is un-useable at this point.
