Thanks for reaching out to see what your return options are for this purchase. Dealing with a compromised account is no fun at all, so I understand wanting to see about a store credit, instead of the return going back to the compromised account.
Generally, it should not be a problem to get a store credit instead of having the funds returned to your original credit card/bank card. I know I’ve done it in the past when I knew there was something else I was going to get at a later time. Just make sure that when you do the return you are specific with the associate that you are looking for a store credit, so that they don’t accidently process it back to your original payment.
If that does happen, your bank should be able to either provide you with a refund, or in some cases, the refund would process to the new account (assuming a new one was created).
