Received item even though order was cancelled by Best Buy

Hi Admins and Best Buy Support,

I recently had placed on order online earlier this month and it was cancelled by Best Buy due to inventory issues. To my surprise I received the item yesterday (10 days after order was cancelled). The Best Buy phone support was utterly useless in helping me with this situation so I went to my nearest Best Buy store and told them the issue and they helped me repurchase the item back using the original price I paid. In my purchase history it now shows up as a new In Store order instead of the previous cancelled order. Can someone guide me on how I can get these two orders (online and in store) linked? The laptop serial number is there on the in store order and receipt so I’m assuming that should be good enough but any help will be much appreciated. Last thing I want is somebody knocking on my door 6 months down the road asking for payment or the item back Smiley Happy

If your original order was unexpectedly cancelled, it would be surprising to still receive the merchandise. It sounds like you did the right thing by visiting your local Best Buy store. You mentioned they assisted with a new transaction, and the serial number for the device is associated with that purchase, which is the outcome we would have wanted. Considering the original order was cancelled, and a new transaction was processed, there should be no cause for concern. While there would not likely be a way to link these transactions, I’d be happy to review them for you, if that would be of any help.
