Re: Unable to return DEFECTIVE item without restocking fee.

Same happened to me today. I bought an open box sony 85 1.8 lens with the price of 550 (which on eBay sells for 450) . The only reason I went for best with the margin for the reliability. But the lens received is defective and almost 70% photos shot on this lens with the latest sony a7iii are not sharp. This camera and lens is suppose to be killer combo.

Stunned at best charging $80 for a defective item, which already had a margin for the marketplace pricing. Pretty disappointed with their service wand quality. Can't recommend anyone to buy their open box not even any of the lens, camera lineup.

Can't wait to take this to all social media and f-stoppers and bring awareness to the photo community

Re: Unable to return DEFECTIVE item without restocking fee.

Hi there, Senstar90,

Welcome to the Best Buy Forums and thank you for taking the time to write in to us.

Getting a new camera lens should be an exciting time, and I can certainly understand wanting the lens to meet all your expectations. We're sad to hear that the item is not functioning to the best of it's abilities.

Under our Return & Exchange Promise, opened cameras and lenses would typically have a restocking fee. With that being said, I'd love to take a look and see if we may be able to assist and take a look at different options we may have available at this time. To do so, please send me a private message by clicking that option below in my signature. Please include your full name, phone number, email address, and the Customer Service PIN associated with this purchase. I look forward to hearing from you!

Best Regards,
