You mentioned you ultimately decided to purchase your son a new laptop. That was quite thoughtful of you. If the device did not meet his needs, provided the device is returned within the return period, the store team should have no problem providing a refund. As covered in the Return & Exchange Promise, refunds are issued to the original form of payment. If you had since closed the account your debit card was linked to, a store credit or Best Buy Gift Card would be issued, as an exception. I hope you can find a laptop that will work for your son.
