Re: Returns from debit card but no longer have that bank.

I'm very upset. first I wasnt planning on buyingg a laptop. I went In for stereo connector for my car. But the way I was treated, like I was a thief, the sales rep taking my item ( $14) up to customer service to hold made me upset and I felt like I had to make a big purchase to prove to wasn't a thief. I was looking for a laptop for my son. So I bought one being told I had 15 days to return if he didn't like. So I tried to return today, it wasn't touchscreen and slow my son said. But the debit card I used , I closed that account for personal reasons and won't bank with them. Debit cards are supposed to be treated like cash! Period. They take cash instantly out of my account! Debit cards are supposed the help keep your money safe by not carrying it around. But retailers have started acting like they are credit or checks. I shouldn't be given the only option of.stiore credit or the same Debi card I used! Tomorrow is rte 15th day. . My son wants a laptop so le elsewhere! I'll never buy anything here again. Stereo cords or laptops

Re: Returns from debit card but no longer have that bank.

Hello, Hbryan75,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our online community. We appreciate you choosing Best Buy for the recent investment. It sounds like you had initially gone to your local Best Buy store for an accessory for your car. Often, our Blue Shirts may offer to hold merchandise at the Customer Service desk or near a register, as that allows our customers to browse more freely. I understand why this may have caused an unsettling feeling, especially if the intent had not been explained. Your feedback on that interaction is appreciated. I hope you had a chance to bring this to the attention of a manager. If not, I’d be happy to formally document your feedback, if you’d like to send a Private Message.

You mentioned you ultimately decided to purchase your son a new laptop. That was quite thoughtful of you. If the device did not meet his needs, provided the device is returned within the return period, the store team should have no problem providing a refund. As covered in the Return & Exchange Promise, refunds are issued to the original form of payment. If you had since closed the account your debit card was linked to, a store credit or Best Buy Gift Card would be issued, as an exception. I hope you can find a laptop that will work for your son. Our Blue Shirt would be in the best position to make product recommendations, if that is something you need help with.

Kind regards,
