Why was i told i could not reurn an item which i was not happy with and exchange for another item without a reciept, because my phone number did not have an accouint??

While it looks like a few of our trusty super users have provided some great insights here, I’ll be happy to offer some additional assistance.
As jdogg836 has mentioned, reimbursements on returns lacking proof of purchase may be denied or limited. This is outlined in the terms and conditions of our Return & Exchange Promise, which you’ll be able to find here.
With that said, we may be able to locate your receipt for you, and provide you a copy, given some additional information from you. As nckhammond has alluded to, one way to find this would be through your My Best Buy account, but if you don’t have one, I may be able to locate receipt with the following information:
This should be enough information for me to begin my research, and hopefully locate the receipt you need.
